🏝️ Where it all beganIbiza, 2011. At an after-party and many drinks in with the good friends behind Lost in Ibiza, the conversation turned to their boats’ sound systems. They were old, rusty, salt-encrusted nightmares that looked hideous and sounded even worse. The DJs didn’t even like to play on them.
🍻 The slurred challengeThen came the challenge: if we could sort them something that didn’t sound like it was dying, they’d hire us all year. They actually followed through, and suddenly the stupid idea had legs.
🔊 Funktion-One or nothingWe flew home, bought our first Funktion-One rig, crammed it into a van and drove it all the way to Ibiza like budget rockstars on a very heavy mission. That was the first real step.
🚀 Things got mentalIt started with two boat parties a week. Then it snowballed into beach clubs, villa parties and nightclubs, stepping in wherever actual bass was needed instead of disappointment.
🇭🇷 Croatia callingCroatia came next. One week it was the main stage at Hideout Festival, then our own Deep parties on the cliffs of Pag Island with world-class DJs dropping heat over the Adriatic.
🌃 London undergroundBack in London, we went deep into the unlicensed party scene. Raw, rebellious and wild — until the police started confiscating gear and court cases piled up. That was the turning point to go legit and level up.
